SHAKESPEARE (ALOKE MONDAL, ROLL NO - 9)

             

SHAKESPEARE AS A STORY TELLER, COMBINES A RICH POWER WITH ALL THE SENSE OF SIMMETRICAL DEVELOPMENT FOR ALL HIS MINUTENESS OF METHOD. SHAKESPEARE ALWAYS MAINTAINS THE SIGHT OF HARMONIOUS. HIS DETAILED TOUCHES HAVE ALWAYS THERE SPECIAL SIGNIFICANCE IN UNFOLDING THE BURDEN OF THE STORY. WE SHALL FIND NO LOOSNESS IN HIS WORK. THE APPEAL OF STORY OF THE READER DOES NOT LIE IN ANY SKILLFULL MANIPULATION OF INCIDENT. IT LIES IN THE TREATMENT OF CHARACTER.
           SHAKESPEARE'S PLOTS ARE SELF SUPPORTING AND THERE ARE ORGANIC WHOLES. HIS PLOTS ARE SELF SUPPORTING AND UNSURPASSED PIECES OF CRAFTSMANSHIP. IN HIS NOVEL OR DRAMA SHAKESPEARE GIVES ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN IN HIS PLOTS. HE BUILDS HIS PLOTS AS A MASON OR AN ARCHITECT WHO BUILDS A HOUSE. HE OBSERVES A STRICKEN ACCURACY IN DETAIL. SHAKESPEARE'S PLOT HAVE A BEGINNING, A MIDDLE AND END. THE DIFFERENT STAGES OF EXPOSITION, COMPLICATION AND DENOUEMENT ARE CLEARLY MARKED.
                  THERE IS A DRAMATIC QUALITY IN SHAKESPEARE'S PLOTS WHEN A PLOT RISES IT'S CRISIS. SHAKESPEARE'S VISUALISING POWER ABOLISHES THE CRISES. THE DRAMATIC MOMENT EXPRESSES ITSELF IN ACTION RATHER THAN WORDS
